Yeah, yeah, we know. The term "New and Improved" is used much too frequently in advertising today. But in this case, it's more than appropriate. The manufacturer of the ELF-1 has made some innovative, and very useful improvements to their handy little machine. Just check out the new features: The smoke is much finer and responds well to a bright white light, which is included. Smoke is actually not smoke at all, but an inert "fog" that is harmless to automobile systems and leaves no residue. This fog is preferable to other leak detectors that utilize an actual smoke, because it takes heat to create smoke, which can be a hazard in some situations. They have also added a highly reflective trace element to the smoke, which can be a terrific feature for those really tiny leaks, that aren't large enough to allow the smoke to escape properly. A bright flashlight (provided) will detect even the smallest traces of smoke escaping from the smallest leaks. Also included is an adjustable relief valve. This prevents an EVAP system from being tested beyond the manufacturer's recommended pressure limit. Another feature included is a brass EVAP port adapter, so you can check the system from the gas tank or the EVAP port. A series of soft-rubber adapters are also supplied to make hooking the ELF-1 smoke machine leak detector to most systems quick and easy along with 3 stepped clear hoses and EVAP Port adapter.. This smoke machine / leak detector blows all others out of the water! No other leak detector is as versatile.

A proprietary process allows the manufacturer to use a food-grade oil with trace elements with highly reflective properties. This process creates an extremely fine mist that is able to seep through even the tiniest leak under pressure. This smoke is completely safe for the automobile. Additionally, the reflective trace can be processed at the same time as the smoke.
