New CompaC Floor Jacks Are The Best

December 5th, 2011

Garage mechanics and home hobbyists who are looking for a top quality floor jack don’t need to look any further as we now carry the popular CompaC jacks. These jacks are truly top of the line. One look at them and you will see the obvious quality and attention to detail.
Now we already carry some fine hydraulic jacks from several different manufacturers such as AFF, Ranger, Zinko, Omega and Hein Werner, but in our opinion, these could be the very best we carry. They are manufactured in Denmark by a company that is known for quality.  Europe has known their fine products for over 60 years, and now they are finally brought over to our shores so that USA customers can see for themselves the proven products that they offer.
Quick lift pedals, low profile saddles and U Joint release mechanisms are standard on most models. There’s a safety to prevent overloading, they have a high quality powder coat finish, and a comprehensive 3 year warranty.
These jacks have a very precise lowering mechanism, which assures it won’t come crashing down when you are lowering the car. Beyond that, they have models that are great for low profile sports cars, as well as extra high lifting, long frame jacks.
Plus, we are starting them out at some very low, introductory sale prices.
Check them out if you are an aficionado of only the best products.

New Jet Blast Tank By Cyclone For Bead Seating Tires

June 8th, 2011

Did you ever have a hard time seating the bead of a tire on your Tire Changer? Many modern rim clamp tire changers have an air tank in the back of the unit, and hoses that lead from the air tank to the jaws that clamp onto the rims of the wheel. Once you’ve mounted the tire to the rim, the next procedure is to step on a pedal to shoot a rapid blast of air into the tire to seat the bead of the tire while it is on the turntable.

Problem is, sometimes this can be a difficult process for various reasons. Many rims are shaped and contoured in such a way that the direction the air jets on the jaws are configured, much of the air blast ends up shooting out the other side of the tire. Sometimes the air tank on the tire changer just isn’t large enough to handle full size truck tires.

In these cases, many customers get a jet blast tank to assist. These jet blast tire bead seating tanks are stand alone air tanks that have a nozzle on them to assist in seating the bead of the tire.  We carry the new Cyclone Tire Bead Seating Tank made by the same folks who invented the popular Cheetah valve tanks. This five gallon tank has a proprietary butterfly valve that assures rapid and complete air exchange. Air gauge and easy to adjust nozzle make operating this thing a breeze. And don’t worry, this thing works on tires up to 24.5″.
And the best part? – It’s Made in the USA.

New BendPak Adjustable Width Two Post Lift

April 13th, 2011

BendPak is always on the leading edge of innovation. They are one of the premier car lift and automotive equipment manufacturers in the world. So when they came out with their new adjustable  width XPR10 Two Post Lift, we said, “Here they go again”.
For quite a few years now, BendPak has made their two post lifts in both a narrow and a wide configuration. Some shops are tight on floor space, and the narrow model is perfect for those situations. We recommend most customers go with a wide model. As long as you have the floorspace, it’s a no brainer. It just makes life so much easier in every way. you can open your doors wider, drive in between the columns easier, and just plain work around the vehicle easier.
Well now you don’t have to decide which one to get! You can get the adjustable width model, and determine which width to set it at when you assemble it. Now you can make the decision of which width to set it up at the time you assemble it. Now you don’t have to worry if you got the wrong size lift. Simply set it up once you get it once you’ve assessed your available floor space as compared to the lift.
You can set it up at the wide setting, which gives you 145 inches from outermost point to outermost point, which is the flanged out base plates at the bottom of each post. The narrow setting would keep you at 132 inches wide. There are asymmetric, and symmetric car lift models available. The asymmetric option has the ability to position the vehicle symmetric as well, so you get the best of both worlds.
Once again, BendPak is leading the way when it comes to innovation.

Sneak Peak At Some New BendPak Lift Models

January 31st, 2011

Part 1 of a three part series.

We love it when manufacturers come out with new products. One manufacturer who probably comes out with more new products than any other manufacturer we carry is BendPak / Ranger. They are always on the cutting edge of innovation. Plus, they have one of the widest varieties of product lines that we’ve ever seen. They manufacture everything from Automotive Lifts and truck lifts under their BendPak line, to tire changers, floor jacks and spray wash cabinets under their Ranger Products line.
Here are some recently announced new products that are scheduled for release in April –

The HD-9AE alignment lift.
This is a 9,000 lb. four-post lifting and alignment system. BendPak saw a demand out on the market for a 9,000 lb. alignment lift for those shops that specialize in smaller vehicles, and don’t want a large, full featured car and truck alignment lift. Where this comes in particularly handy is allowing you to drive up smaller, low profile cars that might bottom out on a full sized, 14,000 lb alignment lift. It is a full featured lift in a nice, compact package, which means it’s a great space saver for those garages that are tight on space. It also helps that it is less expensive than the full sized lift. This Car Lift is a great idea!

New Trends In Auto Shop Equipment For 2011

December 31st, 2010

Happy New Year! would like to thank all of you who made 2010 a huge success for us. Our customers are the best because they are loyal, smart shoppers who know a good deal, and who appreciate a company that is honest with them.
For 2011, we plan on more of the same. Great products at great prices along with great service. No need to make things complicated. Business is really simple if you let it be.
Trends in the automotive equipment industry for 2011 will be something interesting to look at. Technology is always improving. Expect more of the larger rims with low profile tires. They just seem to keep getting larger every year. This causes every tire shop to have to purchase a new Tire Changer every other year to be able to handle these new wheels.
Nitrogen tire fillers are also all the rage now. People are always looking for ways to save money on gas.
AC Service Machines will need to be upgraded to SAE-J-2788 compliant requirements. Alignment machines will trend toward wireless models using the latest, state of the art, bluetooth technology. Automotive Lift manufacturers will attempt to come out with new, innovative types of lifts that meet individual specific niche needs. Lift manufacturers will also trend toward getting their two and four post Automotive Lifts ALI Certified, as it has proven to be a highly desired trait in lifts. Scissor alignment racks are also gaining in popularity because shop owners want an alignment rack that doesn’t take up a lot of floor space. Floor jacks will also be specialized to fit specific needs. More and more manufacturers are creating low profile jacks to fit under lowered cars. Many are also catering to the aluminum racing jack market, for those who demand a lightweight jack. Air compressors will trend to be more quiet. Rotary screw compressors are the most quiet, but there are manufacturers now who are fabricating shrouds to place over the motor of their reciprocating compressors to make them more quiet. And some are reinventing the wheel by re-designing the motor to make it less noisy.
As they say, necessity is the mother of invention. And automotive shop equipment manufacturers are constantly innovating to make shops more productive. You can’t stop progress.
What innovative ideas do you think will take shape in 2011? Let us know by posting a comment below.

New BelAire QP Quiet Air Compressors

July 19th, 2010

Customers are always asking us, “Do you have an air compressor that’s quiet”? Now normally, we would have to steer them toward an expensive Rotary Screw Air Compressor. But not anymore, thanks to the new BelAire Air Compressors QP Series Quiet Reciprocating Compressors.
BelAire hit the ball out of the park with this one. an affordable reciprocating piston air compressor that is hush quiet. Only 66db. Now you can hear yourself think.
These compressors are perfect for smaller shops that don’t have a spare room to store their compressor and desire a reasonable noise level. In fact, they have half the noise of a traditional compressor.
It accomplishes the lower noise level by mounting an ABS housing with heat resistance foam that really reduces the noise level. Don’t worry, there’s a fan in the housing to keep air flow to the motor to keep things cool. There’s low oil shut off, and overheat protection.
And of course you get BelAire’s comprehensive 2 year warranty that includes on-site service. The have over 300 service centers nationwide, so you’re covered no matter where you are.
There are 5 HP and 7.5 HP models available.

Ranger R980X Tire Changer

July 4th, 2010

Ranger has a new tire changer. The R980X Tire Changer has all the great features that auto shop owners want, and even has a warranty that includes on-site service for one year, similar to many top-of-the-line tire changer manufacturers out there. But there is one major difference – Price.

Ranger hit the ball out of the park with this one. This is a stout, beefy unit that won’t flex when you’re changing a tire. It also comes with a powerful 2 HP motor. Take a look at some of the top names out there on the tire changing scene. You’ll find many 1.5 HP motors. Add to that a large air tank in the back that will seat the bead of good size tires that will be difficult to do with many models on the market right now.

It also has a wide range of capabilities too. It can handle all the way up to 24 inch rim diameter and all the way down to 10 inch rims. So you don’t have to worry about turning customers away. That’s a major pet peeve for many shop owner’s. The last think you want to do is turn customers away because you can’t handle their job.

Also available is the R980X-AT. Same machine as the R980X, but also has the mounting helper arm for low profile tires. So now you have two great reasons to check them out.

June 2nd, 2010

New Extra Height Lifting Four Post Lift By BendPak

June 1st, 2010

BendPak has done it again. They are constantly innovating and creating new products for different applications. When they came out with their HD9 series of Four Post Lifts, they had four different models to choose from; a standard model, and extra wide model, and then an extra high lifting version of each. Typically, with the extra high lifting models, the lift would also be extra long as well. Many customers wanted an extra high lifting model that wasn’t extra long. The problem is that with traditional engineering, four post lifts need to have two feet of runway for every one foot of lifting height. BendPak had to re-engineer in order to come up with a four post car lift design that would provide the extra lifting height needed without adding any length to the runways. Finally, customers who wanted the height without the length are happy! Go ahead and park your vehicles and don’t worry about the length. BendPak and have got you covered. View the owner’s manual here.
