ArchivesCar Lifts | Car Lift Blog - Part 2
A winner has been announced for our drawing for the December jump starter contest.
The winner is Steve Smith out of Manchester, MD. He purchased a BendPak HD-7P four post lift. This is a specially engineered lift. It is designed to provide extra lifting height, but not the extra length that typically comes along with it. Normal four post lift engineering requires an extra two feet of runway length for every one foot of lifting height. Sometimes customers want the extra lifting height, but not the extra length that comes with it. That’s where the HD7P lift comes in. It has become a popular recent addition to the BendPak line-up of 4 post lifts.
BendPak isn’t the kind of company that rests on their laurels. That would be easy to do, given their position in the market and their wide variety of car lifts. They are always on the front line creating new, innovative and highly useful products.
Steve said, “I have attached a picture of the lift with one of my cars on it. I am sure I will love it!! I am sure that I will do more business with you. Thanks again for all of your help”.
Check out his very cool picture below. Very nice garage Steve.
We have been selling the BendPak P-6 Pit Lift for 15 years. And in that time frame, we’ve sold quite a few of them. Most customers who purchase this model are lube shops who have a pit that the technician would go down into and then change the oil from below and perform other service work as well. This is the primary use intended for this lift.
However we do get plenty of home / hobby customers who install these car lifts in their home garages because it is a great lift for servicing vehicles and gaining complete access to the underside of the car. It leaves you with an open center, so there are no obstructions to get in your way. Now you will have to roll around on a creeper in order to do this because this is a low rise lift with only 26 inches of lifting height, bust it is a viable option for folks who want complete access to the entire automobile.
The latest pictures are provided by one of our customers in Wisconsin who writes –
“Here are a couple of pics for the P6 Pit Lift we purchased. It is perfect for our application and is obviously well constructed. Thank you again for all your help”.
As you can see, this is the perfect application for this type of pad lift as it straddles the pit on either side and takes up very little shop space. And of course, because it’s made by BendPak, you know it’s the ultimate in quality and features and will last for years.
AAPEX and SEMA are the two largest automotive industry events each year. They were held this year in Las Vegas from October 1st through November 3rd. We attended this year and can verify first hand that there were plenty of participants / exhibitors as well as attendees. The figures aren’t in just yet, but last year, over 51,000 people attended the AAPEX show. The AAPEX trade show was held at the Sands EXPO Center, while SEMA was held at the Convention Center. There were many cool cars with plenty of beautiful models to attract attention. Word is that someone managed to make off with one of the exhibit cars on display. We can’t imagine how that was possible. Exhibitors at both shows represented a wide variety of automotive industry heavy weights, in many different areas, such as; automotive lighting, wheels and tires, brakes, chemicals and waxes, suspension, engine components, exhaust, and of course, our particular area of expertise, automotive shop equipment. Most of our suppliers were there – BendPak / Ranger, BelAire, Waterloo, American Forge & Foundry, John Dow, RTI, Dannmar, Clore Automotive, and many others. These manufacturers represent products such as Car Lifts, floor jacks, air compressors, tool boxes and many other categories. If you weren’t able to make it this year, perhaps we’ll see you there next year.
It’s here! The new 64 page full color catalog from ASEDeals. People have been clamoring for our latest, most up to date catalog. We publish a new one every year. We distribute 10,000 each year. This one has more products than any previous catalog. It’s chock full of the latest car lifts, tire changers battery chargers, tool boxes and so many other products from many of the leading manufacturers. It contains auto lifts by BendPak, Dannmar and Challenger. It contains tire changers from Corghi, Ranger and CEMB. Tool boxes from Waterloo and Ranger. Floor jacks from Hein Werner, AFF, Omega, and Zinko. Air compressors from BelAire, BendPak and CAS. If you can think of a type of automotive shop equipment, odds are, it’s in there. So just give us a call, or email us to request a copy, or you can view a copy of it here. Then, just let us know if you have any questions on any of the products, and we will get you the information you need to make an informed decision on your purchase.
We always take these opportunities to warn you of impending price increases. Dannmar, the manufacturer of our very popular MaxJax Two Post Lift has informed us that they have scheduled a price increase for October 1st.
This price increase is going to be pretty significant. We’re not sure of the percentage of the increase just yet, but they have warned us that it will be at least 5%.
If you’re not familiar with this unique auto lift, check it out on our web site. It basically takes all the features you desire in a two post lift, but makes it shorter so it will fit in home / hobbyist garages whose ceilings are too low for a traditional two post lift. And here’s the kicker, it does not have to be permanently mounted. You are able to simply unbolt it from the floor, and roll it over into the corner of your shop when you aren’t using it if you so desire. This portability feature is a great selling point because many customers don’t want two large posts taking up space in their garage.
So now is the time to jump in on one of the most popular car lifts we’ve ever carried. The current minimum price the manufacturer allows us to advertise this lift for is $1999. But until the end of September, we are offering an even better deal. We cannot advertise the price here. You’ll have to call us to find out the price. It will be worth your time to call.
ASEDeals.com is now on Twitter! We know what you’re thinking – what took you so long? Well, to be honest, we don’t know. We were a bit slow to jump into this new media. But we finally have jumped in with both feet. And you can benefit by staying tuned, because we will be providing you with all kinds of information about what’s going on here, along with special deals and breaking news. Deals will include all of your favorite products, car lifts, air compressors, tool boxes and much more. The headline should be enough to get your interest. Who wouldn’t want a free four post car lift for their home garage? You could use it for all kinds of services for your cars, and you can also use it to store one car over another to help you save on your garage floor space. It’s amazing to us how many people purchase our car lifts for their own use in their home garages.
Well now you don’t have to purchase one. Now you can win one for free! BendPak is giving away a chance to win a free car lift just for posting a comment on their Facebook page or Twitter account. Each weekday, Bend Pak will post an article and all you have to do is respond with a funny, or witty comment. If BendPak chooses your comment for that day, you are entered for a chance to win.
Then, on September 30th, they will have a drawing and choose a winner. That’s 86 chances to win. Winning lift options include the BendPak MD6XP Mid rise scissor lift, one of the BendPak XPR10 two post lifts, or one of the BendPak lifts. It’s that simple.
So get going. You’ve got a couple of months to post a comment that gets chosen bringing you closer to obtaining your very own automotive lift.
The major auto makers from Asia, Europe and US are all currently manufacturing cars specifically for the Chinese market. They are introducing many new cars that cater to the more affordable market. The auto makers want a foothold in this potentially huge market so much that they are willing to take sacrifice intellectual property rights.
These car makers are willing to make these concessions because they see huge potential for this market in the future and are partnering up with some large Chinese companies to produce affordable, low frills cars that meet Chinese consumers needs for a low budget car that offer a basic, entry level car. China consumers are beginning to prosper more than they ever have in the past and are reaping the rewards of a more capitalist society. One of the first things they purchase once they have the funds is an automobile. A car means some degree of independence and the ability to travel for employment or for recreational purposes is becoming more prominent throughout the more populated areas of this growing country.
This could lead to a potentially large increase in the sales of automotive equipment in this large market, such as Car Lifts, Floor Jacks, engine hoists and tire changers.
General Motors is jumping into the market with an affordable vehicle. So are VW, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and most other manufacturers. These cars will not be sold in other countries, at least for now. The Chinese Government has imposed strict rules that require these outside auto makers to follow onerous guidelines in order to be able to sell in the country. This means no proprietary technology. They must share their technology with their Chinese counterparts.
With over a billion in population, one major side effect could be large traffic jams that are prominent in other major cities throughout the USA and other developed nations.
The latest customer picture and testimonial to come in is from Joe Raymond from LTM Auto Repair out of Pontiac, MI. They purchased a BendPak Lift from us years ago, and when they were in the market for a new automotive lift recently, there was no question what they were going to get. The P6-F Pit Lift by BendPak is perfect for lube shops that have a pit for the technician to climb down into and quickly change the oil. These car lifts are also perfect for tire rotations and brake work. This customer purchased the flush mount model. You would need to create a recess in your floor to make the lift flush with the surface of the floor. Bend Pak also has a model that mounts on top of the floor that makes installing much easier.
There’s no better testimonial for a product or a company’s reputation that a customer that comes back for more.
Here’s what Joe had to say about the lift –
“The P6-F Pit Lifts have been a very useful tool for us for 11 years now. We haven’t had any trouble with the lifts other than regular wear and tear. That’s why we just purchased another one. Thanks for everything”.
Dannmar made a Major announcement today about their popular Brigadier line of their two post lifts. As of now, all Dannmar Brigadier D-10 Two Post Lifts are ALI Certified.
This is huge news. When an Automotive Lift is ALI Certified, it means that it meets the most strict standards for safety and quality, and that it was tested in the industry respected ETL testing labs.
We’ve been carrying the Dannmar car lifts for many years now and we have always known about their high standards for quality and safety, but ALI Certification is a game changer. When a lift is ALI Certified, it lifts the status to a premium lift. Many municipalities, corporations and government agencies who purchase auto lifts won’t even consider a lift if it’s not ALI Certified. They have a rigorous testing process, which includes a variety of load bearing, hydraulic and electrical standards tests. The lifts will come with the ALI Gold Standard stickers featured prominently on the post.
While it is now considered a premium lift, it still has a very reasonable price. As a matter of fact, we suspect that there probably isn’t an ALI Certified two post lift out there that costs less. We haven’t checked everywhere, but we doubt one exists. That’s pretty impressive.
Lyle Warnagieris, Dannmar Supply Chain Manager said, “The ALI Certification testing takes some time to complete, which is why everybody knows it’s so thorough. We always knew that our lifts were safe and dependable, but we’re thrilled to have the backing of the Automotive Lift Institute to prove it,”
ALI contracts Interteck Testing Services (ETL), a worldwide testing organization recognized in the US by the Department of Labor and OSHA as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) to fully manage the program in accordance with the Program Procedural Guide. For more information on ALI Safety and Testing, check out the ETL Laboratories web site.
