Full-Rise Scissor Lifts (Stand-Up Working Height)
These models mimic the lifting height of a two post lift (approx. 70 inches) but sit flat or flush on the floor when fully collapsed.
Best For: Commercial garages or home shops wanting total under-car access to stand up straight without dealing with heavy side posts.

Mid-Rise Scissor Lifts (Wheel & Brake Specialist)
Designed to elevate a vehicle between 36 and 48 inches, these are ideal for standard 8-to-10-foot residential garage ceilings.
Best For: Home mechanics wanting heavy-duty lifting without permanently losing garage space or drilling floor anchors.
Key Specifications: 6,000 lbs. capacity, 48-inch max lift height, and runs entirely on standard 110V household power. The power cart acts as a tow handle to roll the lift away when done.

Low-rise options stay lower to the ground (around 24 inches) and are targeted at high-volume tire service and exterior wrap/detailing shops.

Operational Considerations
Air Supply for Safety Release: Standard full-rise and mid-rise MDS lines require an air compressor (minimum 30-50 PSI) to safely disengage the pneumatic lock mechanisms when dropping the vehicle. The portable MD-6XP utilizes manual, multi-position mechanical lock bars instead.
Concrete Groundwork: Even portable, non-anchored models require a stable, fully cured concrete slab of at least 4.25 inches thick (3,000 PSI) to handle the immense localized weight distribution under the scissor pivot tracks.
