Atlas BP8000 Baseplate Two Post Lift
8,000 lbs. Capacity

The Atlas BP8000 is a base-plate two-post lift designed for low ceiling garages. The total column height of 108" (9 feet) allows this lift to be installed in almost any professional or home garage with a ceiling as low as 9 feet 3 inches.

The current model of BP8000 now comes with 3-stage rear arms instead of the old 2-stage, giving more flexibility to your lifting points.

The Atlas BP8000 features a single-point lock release, automatic arm restraints, super symmetric arms, double safety lock system, powder coat finish, and heavy-duty dual hydraulic chain-drive cylinders (one cylinder in each column).

Single Point Lock Release - This Atlas Lift has a manual single point lock release that allows the operator to release all the safety locks at one time. The spring loaded lock handle and power unit dump valve must be activated at the same time. (two hand operation) If the lock handle is released and the dump valve handle is still being pressed, the lift will continue to descend and all locks will automatically re-engage at the next lower lock point.

Double Lock System - This lock system incorporates two locking mechanisms for added safety. The double lock system is automatically activated as the lift is raised. When the vehicle reaches the desired height, the lift is raised just past that locking position and then lowered into that lock, which removes the hydraulic pressure from the cylinders. When the vehicle is ready to be lowered to the ground, the vehicle is raised an inch or two and the double lock system is disengaged by pulling a handle located near the power unit. There is no need for the operator to go to both columns and manually unlock both column locks. All lifting and lowering operations are controlled from one column post. Double safety locks built into each column that can be unlocked by one release lever make this lift one of the safest and easiest to operate base plate lift in the Industry. Two locks...one release...no hassle...available from ATLAS.

Chain-Over-Roller Cylinder Configuration - This 2-post lift has the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration. There are two popular hydraulic cylinder configurations used in two post electric/hydraulic above ground lifts: Greg Smith Equipment sells above ground lifts that incorporate both the direct drive cylinder configuration and the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration. The base plate two post above ground lift implements the chain-over-roller configuration. This is the only hydraulic cylinder system that is possible in the base plate lift. The base plate two post above ground is designed for "low ceilings". The direct drive hydraulic cylinder configuration cannot be used in the base plate lift because the hydraulic cylinder would extend above the 9' column when the lift arms were raised to the maximum height. The "overhead" two post above ground lift may incorporate either the direct drive hydraulic cylinder or the chain-over-roller hydraulic cylinder.

Super Symmetric Arm Configuration - Our super symmetric arm configuration is a great improvement over the traditional asymmetric or symmetric arm configuration. Our most asked question about our arm configuration is: "Can I get in and out of the vehicle easily"? The Atlas super symmetric arm configuration allows the customer to get in and out of the vehicle with ease. The real question should be; "Can I position the arms properly (arm pads under the correct lift points) and still get in and out of the vehicle easily"? The Super Symmetric arm design answers "YES" to this question.

Automatic Arm Restraints - are needed to keep the arm "locked" into a position relative to the carriage. When the arms are at rest in the lowest position, the arm restraint pin (which extends below the carriage) is pressed up and the lock (teeth) mechanism is disengaged. The operator can then move the arms so that the lift pads can be properly positioned under the vehicle’s lift points. Once the carriage is raised (approximately 2 inches) the lock is reengaged and the arms cannot be moved. However, the operator may pull the knob or metal ring to manually unlock the arms. Lock restraints do not guarantee that a vehicle cannot be "moved" off of the lift pads. Operator should use care when working on vehicles that have an abundant amount of undercoating (lift pads may "slide") or a significant weight imbalance of the vehicle may occur due to removal of an engine or transmission. Also, "HEAVY wrenching" may result in a vehicle shifting weight on the arm pads. We recommend the use of tall jack stands under the vehicle to add another layer of safety.

CE Tested and Approved CE Tested And Approved
The letters 'CE' appear on many products that are traded in the European Economic Area (EEA). There are 27 member states of the EU and European Free Trade Association. The CE marking attests the verification by a manufacturer that products meet EU safety requirements. It is the manufacturer’s responsibility to carry out the conformity assessment. Conformity assessment testing was performed by CCQS UK Ltd. www.ccqs.co.uk

This Atlas lift (structure and hydraulics) has been tested and has passed the CE conformity requirements. Atlas lifts sold in the USA and Canada use a different power unit than those required by CE. CE requires an electrical control box (with solenoids) that actuates the hydraulic power unit.

Electric power units supplied with above ground lifts in the USA and Canada do not require the electronic control box; therefore the power unit was not tested to CE approval requirements. If you have questions relating to the power unit supplied with your lift, please discuss these with your salesman.

If you are customer from the EU or other foreign county that requires CE approval, please contact our sales office to see how we can help.

Electrical Requirements
The electric motor for the power unit requires 220 Volt (single phase) 60 Hz (+/- 5%, so 209-231 volts). We recommend using at least a 10 gauge (grounded) wire from the electrical panel. The power unit may or may not have a short pigtail (no plug) that can be wired to either an optional quick disconnect box (mounted on the lift column) or to a male/female plug combination. A 30 amp breaker is required.

Installation
The Atlas BP8000 Baseplate Two Post Lift should be installed on a concrete floor. This concrete floor should have a minimum of four (4) inches of concrete with 3000 PSI strength. Most of our above ground lift customers install their own car lifts. The average time to install the Atlas BP8000 car lift is four hours. We provide detailed installation instructions with all our two post above ground lifts and our four post above ground lifts.
