What To Expect On Delivery Day
We will get you tracking info once your lift ships so that you can coordinate delivery directly with the freight carrier. Sometimes the carriers run into delays and are late. Sometimes, due to unforeseen circumstances, they may not be able to make it the original day they scheduled.
Your address must be accessible for a large tractor trailer. It is the driver's discretion as to whether your address is accessible. If the driver is not comfortable with backing into your lot, you will need to meet him at the road to offload.
In most cases, you will need a forklift, or some other piece of equipment to off-load the product from the freight truck. Most models are too large for a lift-gate. Some models are able to be off-loaded with a lift gate, however the freight carriers charge an additional fee for a lift gate delivery.
If you cannot receive and offload it from the freight truck, many customers will choose to pick their lift up at the local freight carrier's terminal. Most carriers have terminals near major cities. They will load it into your truck or trailer at no charge. Then, when you get it back to your garage, you can un-bundle the package and offload it piece by piece, which makes the process much more manageable for many customers.
Normal Shipping and Handling Abrasions
Please note that ASE has no control over the shipment once it leaves the warehouse and we cannot be held responsible for shipping damages and/or lost packages once they leave the warehouse. It is important that you inspect the shipment, and refuse it if it is damaged in a significant way, or note any minor damage or missing pieces..
We carry 9 different vehicle lift manufacturers, and they all package and ship their products pretty much the same way. If they were to package them in such a way they there was no chance for a few scratches, it would cost about $1000 more to ship. Some of our manufacturers offer this option. Contact us for details about this option if you cannot tolerate a few cosmetic blemishes. Remember, this is a piece of shop equipment, not a museum show piece.Although our manufacturers do their best to package your shipment to minimize damage, minor scratches and abrasions due to normal transportation and handling are expected. This is why they all include some touch up paint with the shipment. DO NOT refuse your shipment if you observe minor scratches or abrasions similar to those shown in the photos below. You may be responsible for round-trip freight charges if your claim for damage is denied. Do refuse it if it is damaged in a significant way. If the package looks OK, but there is anything questionable about it's condition, please make note of it on the shipping documents they have you sign.
Please see pictures below for examples of typical and normal abrasions and scratches that you can expect to see.
This type of damage can be addressed by polishing and touch up paint.
